Travel Tips

We are a mile above sea level! It is very important to take care of yourself during your visit to help adjust to the altitude and avoid any altitude sickness. Please consider the following:

• WATER: Drinking plenty of water is the best way to help your body adjust easily to the higher altitude. Plan to drink about twice as much water than you would at sea level. We recommend increasing your water intake a few days before coming to visit. 

• LIBATIONS: Although BCC does not allow any alcohol on the premises, please take caution while you are out and about in the evenings after the events. Alcohol processes differently at a higher altitude. 

• SPF: Please wear sunscreen! You are much closer to the sun here, with 25% less protection than usual. We get around 300 days of sunshine per year, so yes - even when its chilly, put on your sunscreen!  

• LAYERS: Again, you are very close to the sun here. While temperatures may be chilly, the sun sure is toasty. Its best to have options and listen to your body

• TAKE BREAKS: Higher altitude and thinner air out here can tend to make folx feel short of breath. Please take breaks and listen to your body while you are visiting.
